privately held corporation, today announced the immediate world-wide availability of WinTAR-SCSI Version 2.3.0 (Build 000618) for Windows 95/98/2000 and Windows NT. This is a maintenance release only. It has the following bug
fixes and enhancements:
- Implemented better support of AIT tape drives.

privately held corporation, today announced the immediate world-wide availability of WinTAR-SCSI Version 2.3.0 (Build 000401) for Windows 95/98/2000 and Windows NT. This is a maintenance release only. It has the following bug
fixes and enhancements:
- Fixed the rare occurrence of empty
drive list in the Extraction dialog box.
- Fixed "Fast Search" problem with
files in the archives that are greater than 4GB.
- Fixed quiting problem using the
"Close button" in the title bar.
- Fixed background color scheme
problem when using Windows 2000.
- Fixed tape offset bug in .tal files
during tar creation. (commerical version only.)
- Accept tapes with the last block in
the archive that is not a multiple of the blocking factor.
- Implemented auto-block factor
changes for invalid block sizes.
- Added "Use density code for hardware compression flag" for better
handling of tape drives supporting multiple formats.

privately held corporation, today announced the immediate world-wide availability of WinTAR-SCSI Version 2.3.0 (Build 991013) for Windows 95/98 and Windows NT. This is a maintenance release only. It has the following bug
fixes and enhancements:
- The "flashing" or skewed-looking
Preference dialog box is fixed. This only happens to certain
Windows platform with an incompatible common control
library.
- We now support files within a tar archive to have sizes greater than 2GB.
The maximum supported file sizes is 8GB - 1 byte, which is the limit supported
by the tar format. Use
of this feature may make your tar archive not readab.e by
older tar programs under Unix as the maximum file sizes
supported is 2GB
- There is now support for using
regular expressions/wild-cards to extract files from a tar
archive using a file list. [Only in commercial release]
- To improve the tape searching throughput, we now incorporate "fast
search" support when reading the archive content and extracting selected files
from a tar archive on tar files, tar floppy diskettes, and tar tapes.

privately held corporation, today announced the immediate world-wide availability of WinTAR-SCSI Version 2.3.0 (Build 990402) for Windows 95/98 and Windows NT. This is a maintenance release only. It has the following bug
fixes and enhancements. If none of the fixes or enhancements applies to you,
you do not need to download this new version.
- The "Unknown SCSI error" with code 0
problem is fixed.
- We now fully support double-byte character system such as Chinese and
Japanese. Double-byte characters are now displayed and handled properly in
all list boxes containing filenames and directories in the corresponding
language version of Windows 95/98, and Windows NT.

privately held corporation, today announced the immediate world-wide availability of WinTAR-SCSI Version 2.3.0 for Windows 95/98 and Windows NT. WinTAR-SCSI uses the most popular Unix archiving format, tar, as
the storage format to enable transparent exchange of files among Microsoft Windows
95/98/NT and Unix platforms.
Being the successor of WinTAR-SCSI Version 2.2.x, this new
release has many major enhancements and bug fixes including:
- A new and improved user interface
with Windows 95/98 controls.
- Flexible FileMarks searching in
forward and backward directions.
- Read and write multi-tape and
multi-floppy tar archives.
- Better support of user-defined
backup templates for common backup patterns.

29, 1998, are eligible for upgrading to this new version free of charge via the
Internet only. You can use the same FTP downloading instructions that was sent
to you via email when you register WinTAR-SCSI to download
star230r.exe. If you need us to email you the software or you have lost the FTP
downloading instructions, please email us at support@spiralcomm.com
with your registration number, user name, company, and email address. Put in the
subject of your email "Upgrade WinTAR-SCSI". Upon verification of
identity, we will email you the software. If you have lost the registration number
but you can provide some proof of purchase from us, you may be eligible for a upgrade to
Version 2.3.0 at half the current list price of WinTAR-SCSI, plus shipping and
handling charges if applicable.
For those registered users who would like to receive the upgrade on a 3.5" floppy
diskette via postal air mail or courier, there will be an upgrade fee at half the
current list price of WinTAR-SCSI, plus applicable shipping and handling charges.
